Altera's MAX® 7000 CPLDs are based on the advanced Multiple Array Matrix (MAX) architecture and offer world-class, high-performance solutions for a broad array of applications. Manufactured on an advanced CMOS process, the electrically-erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM)-based MAX 7000 products provide instant-on capability, and offer densities from 32 to 512 macrocells with pin-to-pin delays as fast as 3.5 ns. Altera's 3.3-V MAX® 3000A devices are based on the Altera® MAX architecture and are cost-optimized for high-volume applications. Manufactured on an advanced 0.30-µm CMOS process, the electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM)-based MAX 3000A family provides instant-on capability and offers densities from 32 to 512 macrocells. MAX 3000A devices support in-system programmability (ISP) and can be easily reconfigured in the field. Each MAX 3000A macrocell is individually configurable for either sequential or combinatorial logic operation.

MAX II CPLDs are based on a groundbreaking architecture that delivers the lowest power and the lowest cost per I/O pin of any CPLD family. With the recent introduction of the MAX IIZ products, there are now three variants that all use the same innovative CPLD architecture:

This instant-on, non-volatile device family targets general-purpose, low-density logic applications, such as cellular handset design. In addition to delivering the lowest cost for traditional CPLD designs, MAX II CPLDs drive power and cost improvements to higher densities, enabling you to use MAX II CPLDs in place of higher power or higher cost ASSPs and standard-logic CPLDs.
Atmel's SPLD products consist of industry standard 16V8, 20V8 and 22V10s in a variety of voltage and power-saving options. Atmel offers low-voltage, zero-power and quarter power versions as well as our proprietary "L" automatic power down low-power devices including the Battery Friendly ATF22LV10CQZ. All popular packages are supported in addition to the Atmel-only, TSSOP package -- the smallest package offered for any SPLD device. All versions are EE-based for high-reliability and easy re-programming and are supported by all popular third party programmers.
The ATF15xxBE family of CPLDs is the latest offering from Atmel and is recommended for new designs and applications that require Ultra low power, blazing speed (5ns) and operate at 1.8V. Atmel offers small form fit packages that are ROHS compliant. The ATF15xxBE family is a pin compatible replacement for Xilinx CPLDs.
